Schools
The Coupeville School District offers a wide spectrum of educational opportunities, from thriving public schools to innovative private enterprises. A Gates grant in 2002 allowed Coupeville High School to upgrade their technology and redesign the school to follow a learning community model. Students have more involvement in school operations, and work closely in small groups with an advisor.
The Coupeville district also operates a highly respected after school tutoring program called Learning Partners, and enrichment program called After the Facts, and a special before school elementary reading program.
Voters approved a $22.8 million bond to fund construction of a new high school in Coupeville. Once complete, the current high school will be demolished.
The Cedar Program allows parents to work directly with certificated teachers and use the district’s instructional materials to guide their children’s education at home.

Bible Baptist School is located in nearby Oak Harbor and offers kindergarten through 12 th grade.
High School students from Central Whidbey who prefer a different style of learning have a good choice in Bayview School. The alternative school offers a small student/teacher ratio and a hands-on approach to independent learning.

Garden Isle Montessori School is a traditional Montessori classroom that strives to instill a lifelong love of learning in each child. Preschool through first grade. Located in Coupeville. 360-678-5641
College education is available on Whidbey through Skagit Valley college with a full range of two year degrees, academic transfer courses and vocational classes from its Oak Harbor campus and from satellite facilities stretching from the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station to Clinton.
